The fruit for this Grand Cru comes from two complementary lieux-dits, Le Charlemagne in Aloxe-Corton, from 50-years old vines giving ripe and rich grapes and En Charlemagne in Pernand-Vergelesses, NorthWest facing, a cooler climate bringing a freshness and nice balance to the cuvée. The 2019 whites have wonderful aromatic purity. The palate is rich in concentrated lemon, apple, pear, and melon yet balanced by zesty acidity and linear minerality. A perfect balance that will allow for extended aging.
