A blend of Syrah and Pinot Noir, the 2018 Grand Cheval has a deep ruby color and takes some time in the glass to offer scents of black cherries, aniseed, iron, coffee beans and grilled meats. The medium-bodied palate has concentrated, mineral-laced fruit, an abundance of grainy tannins, fresh acidity and a long, iron-laced finish.
