Made from 30+ year old vines, located in vineyards above the famous Grand Cru sites of the Cotes de Nuits. The wine was fermented on the skins (half as whole cluster) for 4-5 week and the resulting wine was aged in oak barrels, 30% new, for 15 months.
Wine tasting: complex nose where fruity, smoky, grilled and spicy aromas mingle throughout the years. The mouth is full and silky, full-bodied and long, revealing the flattering woody note in the finish.
Food and wine pairing: it will give its best with feathered game, meats cooked in wine and strong cheeses.
This smoothly ripe wine has a shot of fresh acidity to keep it on its toes. It is fruity, with red-berry flavors that are backed by tannins. The wine is still young but promises well. Drink from 2022. — Roger Voss
